How to Clean the Bottom of the Toilet Without Chemicals?
Recommended products for cleaning toilets and removing tartar (yellow stains that accumulate inside):
– Bathroom cleaner or bleach (bleach, chlorine)
– White vinegar (for cleaning)
– Sodium bicarbonate
– Cola drink (optional)
– Rags and brushes
– A pair of gloves
White Vinegar, Baking Soda and Lemon
If your toilet has yellow stains, black stains, or has accumulated excess limescale, use the following homemade tips:
In a container, mix 3/4 cup of white vinegar plus 5 tablespoons of baking soda and the natural juice of a lemon. This will form a kind of paste. Spread this paste inside the toilet. Let it sit for 30 to 60 minutes.
Baking soda and cleaning vinegar are two natural elements that will destroy any accumulated dirt.
Once the time is up, put on your gloves and start scrubbing with the rough part of a sponge (it can also be with the brush). You will see that dirt, scale and stains are easily removed. Pull the chain to remove the product and that’s it.
Hot Vinegar and Table Salt
Another mixture that is perfect for removing dirt is done as follows: Boil two cups of white vinegar and when it’s hot, add a generous amount of table salt. Stir so that the two elements are well integrated. Then pour the mixture into the toilet and let it sit for 15 to 30 minutes. The time will always depend on the degree of dirt. Then scrub with the brush or sponge, pull the chain and that’s it.
Baking Soda and Hydrogen Peroxide
If the bottom of the toilet is really dirty and has scale on its sides, use this formula:
Mix 1/4 hydrogen peroxide plus 5 tablespoons baking soda. Spread the resulting paste on the areas affected by tartar. Leave it on for at least 15 minutes. After that time, put on a good pair of gloves and start scrubbing with a rough scrubber. When you’ve removed all the stains, flush the toilet and clean the outside of the bowl.
White Cleaning Stone and a Cloth
A great product for cleaning toilets is the white cleaning stone, a paste made of sodium carbonate, soap, vegetable glycerin and white clay. By its nature, it is perfect for removing yellow stains from toilets.
Simply moisten a sponge, rub it against the cleaning stone, and then scrub the stains inside the toilet. You can use a brush to reach the stains in the less accessible areas. After scrubbing, pull the chain and pour in a cup of vinegar or a little bleach. With this second cleaning, you’ll be done disinfecting the toilet.
If you opt for this trick, assign a white cleaning stone exclusively to the bathroom.
