Easy Tips to Make Your Kitchen Clean and Organized (Part One)

Do you dream of having a tidy kitchen? Imagine that all the utensils have their own space, that the refrigerator is perfectly adapted to your consumption habits or that you don’t have to take the trays and pans out of the oven when you want to cook… Just imagine, wouldn’t it be perfect?

Let me tell you a secret? It’s possible if you put into practice the below tips for organizing the kitchen.

One of the biggest benefits of tidying up is reducing stress and increasing focus, in addition to helping us better optimize our free time. But that’s not all, a well-organized home provides a unique sense of balance and stability for you and your family.

It is clear that order is urgent, but to keep a house in order, it is very important to do without all those items and objects that we will never use. For example, a house with a lot of utensils (drawer that we open, drawer in which appear lids, trays, spoons, glasses, plates,..) is a noisy house, subject to a lot of stress and will never remain well organized.

With these tips, your kitchen will change its look, it will seem newer, more spacious and, most importantly, it will be in order! Interested in learning more? Keep reading!

Throw Out Anything Broken or Outdated

Before getting down to business, the first thing you should do is open all the kitchen cabinets and throw out anything that is broken, expired or that you haven’t used in over 18 months. Don’t be afraid to throw those items away, donate or recycle those dusty cups, take them out and you’ll save room for the things you use in your daily life.

I know, it’s hard to get rid of things, especially in a consumerist society like ours, but believe me, the well-being of having a noise-free, stress-free home will bring you more benefits than the pleasure of accumulating and buying just to buy.

A kitchen full of objects loses space, light and color.

Reorganize the Space Where the Waste is Located

The second step in getting the kitchen in order is to reorganize the space where the trash cans are located. This is one of the places that gets dirty the most, so you need to pay special attention to its maintenance.

Some families have a low cabinet in which they place these cubes, others, however, have it in a corner or a corner of the kitchen. In any case, the place where you are going to place the trash cans should be clear and strategically located, that is, it should be inaccessible to small children or pets.

Remember that this is an area that gets dirty very quickly, so it must be clear and always clean. That is, make sure that there are no more objects around such as cleaning products or other items.

At this point, I encourage you to recycle, as separating waste by category (in different colored buckets) will help you avoid bad odors and is a great service you will do for the health of the planet.

Always Keep the Oven Free of Utensils

How many times have you had to take out a large number of pots and pans when you want to use the oven? In the home, it is very common to store utensils inside the oven. It’s not wrong to do this, it doesn’t harm your appliance, but it doesn’t benefit you either.

From experience, I know that you will find items that you don’t even use and it’s best to get rid of them so they don’t take up space. Once you get rid of these utensils, move the utensils that were inside the oven. I recommend storing them in a closet near the stove or the oven itself.

Remember that only the trays (or racks) of this appliance should remain in the oven. And very importantly, always keep it clean to avoid bad odors or breakdowns.
